Technical Customer Engineer (Pixitmedia)
Role Overview:
This is an ideal opportunity for an IT support engineer, who is ready to move into a more technically challenging role. The position offers hands-on experience in Linux systems, enterprise storage, networking, and automation within a high-performance environment. You'll be supported by senior engineers and gain exposure to cutting-edge infrastructure technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
|• Support and maintain Linux-based systems (RHEL/CentOS/Rocky/Ubuntu) in production environments.
• Assist in troubleshooting server, storage, application, and networking issues for global clients.
• Contribute to hardware/software installations, configurations, and deployments.
• Document resolutions and contribute to the internal knowledgebase.
• Learn and assist with enterprise storage systems, including distributed filesystems (e.g., IBM Spectrum Scale / GPFS).
• Support basic networking (VLANs, routing, switch configuration).
• Exposure to automation tools (SaltStack) and scripting (Bash/Python) — training provided.
Candidate Profile:
• Prior experience in an IT support role — apprenticeship, service desk, or infrastructure support.
• Confident working on the Linux command line, with a solid understanding of basic system administration.
• Some exposure to networking, storage, or virtualisation is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
• Excellent communication skills — verbal and written — for working with technical teams and end users.
• Motivated to learn and grow within a collaborative engineering environment.
