Position Summary

We are looking for a hungry, high-energy Account Executive to drive Pixitmedia revenue across the media and entertainment market in LA and beyond. This is a hunter role for someone who loves the chase — opening doors at new studios, VFX and animation houses, post-production facilities, and broadcasters, while digging into our existing Pixitmedia customers to find and win expansion opportunities.

Based in LA, the heart of the content creation industry, you will own a territory that covers LA and beyond. While much of the M&E business is concentrated here, the role will also cover customers further afield wherever opportunities and relationships take us. This role must be based in the Los Angeles area. You will balance net-new logos with growth in existing accounts, building strong, direct relationships with customers and prospects and selling Pixitmedia’s high-performance storage and data workflow solutions face-to-face to the people who make the world’s films, series, games, and live events. Solutions Architects will work alongside you, and partners will support deals where they add value — but the customer relationship is yours. You will be accountable for the full sales cycle, from first conversation to closed revenue.

Key Responsibilities

Prospecting & Pipeline Generation

  • Hunt for new logos in LA and beyond — targeting studios, VFX and animation houses, post-production facilities, broadcasters, streamers, and sports/live production teams
  • Proactively mine the existing Pixitmedia customer base for whitespace — new productions, new sites, new teams, and new workflows
  • Run high-volume, multi-channel outbound (phone, email, LinkedIn, events) to book qualified meetings and build a healthy pipeline (3–5x quota coverage)
  • Research and map target accounts — understand production pipelines, render and storage pain points, and key decision makers (CTOs, heads of engineering, pipeline TDs, post supervisors)
  • Follow up quickly on inbound leads, trade show contacts, and marketing campaign responses

Sales Execution

  • Lead discovery conversations that uncover workflow challenges around performance, capacity, collaboration, archive, and hybrid-cloud production
  • Position the full Pixitmedia portfolio — Pixstor, Ngenea, Object Matrix, and Swarm for media — against competitive alternatives, articulating clear value for creative and technical teams
  • Partner with Solutions Architects to coordinate demos, POCs, and technical validation
  • Own opportunities through the full sales cycle and close both net-new and expansion business

Existing Account Growth

  • Build trusted relationships with technical and creative leaders across existing Pixitmedia accounts
  • Drive expansion revenue through capacity growth, performance upgrades, new sites, and hybrid-cloud workflows
  • Increase product attach across the portfolio — e.g., adding Ngenea orchestration, Object Matrix archive, or Swarm object storage to Pixstor environments
  • Partner on renewals to protect and grow recurring revenue

Direct Customer Relationships

  • Build and own direct, trusted relationships with decision makers and influencers at customers and prospects — CTOs, heads of engineering, pipeline TDs, and post and production leaders
  • Be a regular, visible presence with accounts — on site, in studios, and at facilities — rather than relying on partners to manage the customer relationship
  • Understand each customer’s production roadmap well enough to anticipate needs and bring opportunities forward

Industry & Partner Engagement

  • Represent Pixitmedia at LA industry events, user groups, and trade shows (e.g., NAB, SIGGRAPH, HPA Tech Retreat) and local studio meetups
  • Build a strong personal network across the M&E technology community in LA and beyond
  • Work with M&E-focused resellers, systems integrators, and technology alliance partners where they add value, while keeping direct ownership of the customer relationship

Pipeline Discipline

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date opportunity and activity data in CRM
  • Hit weekly activity targets and contribute to accurate monthly and quarterly forecasting
  • Share market and competitive intelligence with sales, product, and marketing teams

Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience & Education

  • 3–5 years of quota-carrying sales experience, ideally selling technology into media and entertainment
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding quota through both new business and growth in existing accounts
  • Demonstrated success selling directly to end customers and building relationships with technical and executive decision makers
  • Working knowledge of M&E production workflows — VFX, animation, post-production, broadcast, or live production — and the infrastructure that supports them (storage, render, editorial, asset management, or cloud)
  • An existing network within the Los Angeles studio, post, or VFX community is a strong plus
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience

Skills & Attributes

  • Hunter mentality: driven and competitive, energized by opening new doors and by finding untapped opportunity in existing accounts
  • Resilience and grit — comfortable with rejection and persistent in pursuit of the meeting
  • Curious and technically minded, quick to learn and explain complex infrastructure concepts
  • Clear, confident communicator able to speak credibly with both creative and technical audiences
  • Organized and metrics-driven, with disciplined CRM habits
  • Team-first mindset; thrives working alongside Solutions Architects, partners, and senior sellers
  • Willingness to travel regularly across LA and beyond for customer meetings and industry events
